Are you looking for one of the most inspiring, challenging and rewarding experiences for your son or daughter during the school holidays? Would you like them to experience some of the most beautiful natural environments in Australia or around the world - and learn so much about themselves, leadership, independence, resilience and working with others? If so, our leadership camps and extended expedition leadership camps could be just what you are looking for.
We offer a range of leadership camps and expedition style leadership camps in different areas for young people of all ages and interests. Our camps range from 2 days to 2 weeks - and everything in between.
Summer 2021 Expedition Camp: January
Leadership Expedition Camp (5-7 Days)
Date: 13-19 January
Age guide: girls or boys ages 12-17/18 (approx) who want a challenging, inspiring and fun experience
Location/s may include either (tbc following expression of interest and conditions closer to the time):
Kosciuszko National Park, Wilsons' Prom, Alpine National Park, Grampions
Program Overview
Are you looking for one of the most inspiring, challenging and rewarding experiences for your son or daughter this summer? Would you like them to experience some of the most beautiful natural environments in Australia. And, to learn so much about themselves, leadership, independence, resilience and working with others? The young leaders who joined us on previous expedition leadership camps keep telling is that it was one of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences of their life. So we would love your son or daughter to join us - this leadership expedition style camp has it all.
The young leaders who take on this challenge will help plan and lead this 5-7 day expedition, with the support of the highly experiences and qualified Program Coordinator. The expedition will include a 3-4 day bushwalk and bush camping experince in a wilderness environment.
Transport: The group will travel use a variety of transport options depending on the terrain and the specific route the group decides to take. We will walk; we will also use public bus and train transport for periods of the journey.
Other requirements: Participants will need a moderate to high level of independence and physical fitness for this expedition. Participants will have to be self-sufficient for 3-4 days and carry their personal equipment, clothing and food in a hiking backpack (there is a food re-supply on Day 4/5).
Pre & Post Trip Travel Days: This can be organsied by arrangement.

Personal Budget: Each participant will have to also need a personal budget of $120-200 for personal food and transport
Registrations: Registrations are open and places are limited. To confirm your place please send an email to info@wels.com.au and submit your deposit of 50% of program cost or pay the the full amount.

We are currently seeking a formal expression of interest for the following expedition camps that participants and families have asked us to offer in Australia and internationally. If you child has a group of family friends who would have an idea for an expedition then please let us know..we would love to make it happen.
Based on requests from participants and families we are offering the following expedition leadership camps during the 2019 school holdiay periods. We are now calling for specific expression of interest for the following camps and expeditions:
