With highly engaging, hands-on, real-life team problem solving challenges each day; leadership and teamwork initiatives; participants led fitness, games and sport; relaxation and creative initiatives; team leadership projects; community service; and outdoor adventure components – there really is something for everybody! Each program we run is unique, as it is tailored to the goals, interest and capabilities of the participants - and the nature of the activities and initiatives change. So you can join us once or as many times as you like.
Goal, Aims & Benefits of Program
Our passionate, highly qualified and skilled program coordinators work with participants to create a highly positive, safe, supportive but challenging environment, where each person feels encouraged to extend their comfort zones, take risks, try new things and explore their unique talents and potential. The goal of our leadership and leadership and health programs is for participants to use the experience to help improve their wellbeing, health and leadership – and have a great time doing it! The aims of the program are for each person to:
challenge themselves, expand their comfort zone and have fun;
develop greater self-knowledge and confidence;
-develop greater understanding about working with others and in teams;
-develop different dimensions of their unique talents or skills;
develop increased independence and resilience;
identify and work on a personal leadership goal and challenge;
develop a deeper understanding and capabilities in important themes in personal development, teamwork and leadership;
develop a deeper understanding about their unique approach to leadership, teamwork and wellbeing.
All programs will be coordinated and facilitated by one of our highly qualified, experienced, skilled and inspiring program coordinators and group leaders. Each participant will be supported by positive and highly skilled coaching and mentoring from the program coordinators and group leaders.
Day 1-2/3 (depending on program)
2 or 3 Day Program (day based program) - Junior
Core Program (9am - 2pm)
Participants will learn more about themselves and develop their unique approach to leadership and health through a number of stimulating and hands-on team and individual challenges and activities each day. The feature component of each day are the highly innovative and engaging Team Leadership Challenge, where participants have the opportunity to work in a team to deal with and try to resolve a real-life, hands-on challenge, problem or simulation. Each day the Team Challenge is different – it will explore and focus on a different dimension or theme in leadership and personal development. Team Challenges are based in different environments, to challenge and test the participants, either out and about in local community parklands or at our base location. Each morning and afternoon will include participant lead sport, fitness and games. Each day will also include: leadership and teamwork initiatives; relaxation and reflection; creative tasks; and, recreation time. Participants will also have opportunities to develop and lead leadership activities during the program. Each participant will also be invited to work on a personal leadership goal and challenge during the program.
Each program we run is unique, as it is tailored to the goals, interests and capabilities of the participants, and the nature of the challenges and initiatives change.
This is the general schedule of our Core Program:

Extended Advanced Program (Afternoons 2pm - 4.30pm)
The Extended Advanced Program is an extension option for motivated participants who attend the Core Program. This is for participants who want an extra personal or team challenge and have the energy and independence for the full day. This could be for participants who are participating in camp/Leadership Challenge Days, or for participants who want extra self-directed time to work on a team or individual leadership challenge project (potentially out in the local community). Participants involved in the Challenge Days and/or camp use some of this time to plan and organise their Challenge and/or camp, with the support of the Program Coordinator. The Advanced Program will also include participant lead sport, games and relaxation activities. This program may also include a mini-team leadership challenge out and about in the lcoal community.
The session will be overseen and supervised by the program coordinator and participants will have access to coaching and mentoring support from the coordinator; however, the projects and activities during this session will be largely self-directed, allowing participants to put initiative into action. It is generally expected that participants in the Advanced Program have attended the Core Program.
Day 4-5/6 (optional extra component)
Leadership Challenge Days & Overnight Camps (day options and camp based options)

*Some Junior programs offer specific Challenge Days and camps. Other programs offer Junior participants who want an extra challenge, and who have the indpendent and capabilities to benefit from the experince, the opportunity to participate in the Challenge Days or camp with the Middle Years participants.
Bush Camps & Challenge Days (Day 4-5/6)
The camps and Leadership Challenge Days are a unique feature of our programs - and a unique and wonderful real life learning opportunity for participants. These days are such valuable experiences as they are an opportunity for participants to test themselves, each other, their leadership, and what they have learned during the first 2/3 days of the program - out and about in the real world, on a real-life challenges and activities. Almost every participants loves the Challenge Days/camps; for many it is the highlight of the program; many have said it was one of the best experiences of their life!
One of the unique and key features of the camps or Leadership Challenge Days is that our participants will be responsible for working collaborative with their fellow participants to plan, organising and then lead almost every aspect of the Challenge/camps, with the support of the Program Coordinator. A key aspect of the challenge and experience is dealing with many of the real life decisions, problems and challenges that arise on the Challenge Days and/or camp.
The participants work with the Program Coordinator to plan and organise the camp or Challenge Day/s during the first 2/3 days of the Core Program (generally during the afternoon sessions). The role of the Program Coordinator/s during the Challenge Days and camp, will be to offer positive and highly skilled mentoring and coaching to the group and participants, as is required, so the experience is a safe and rewarding experience for all the participants. The Challenge Days/camps are tailored to the goals, interests and capabilities of the participants. The specific nature, locations and days for the Challenge Days and/or camp will vary depending on the specific program and venue. Challenge Days can be based in bush locations (Bush Challenge) or in urban/city environments (Urban Challenge) and usually also involve overnight bush camps for 1 or 2 nights.
2/3 Day Overnight Bush Camp
Bush Challenge Day
The Bush Challenge is a unique and real life learning opportunity for participants to test themselves and each other, their leadership and what they have learned during the first 2/3 days of the Core Program, with real challenges in a beautiful bush environment. The Bush Challenge is also a great opportunity for participants to develop greater independence, self-reliance and resilience. Participants from previous programs have regarded the camps/Bush Challenges as great fun, yet also extremely valuable life learning experience. The bush experience also provides participants a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature and have invaluable time and space away from the digital demands of modern life. The Bush Challenge usually involves: a bushwalk/hike planned and lead by participants; bush based activities; team activities; some bushcraft and survival skills; recreation and reflection time; some sustainability and outdoor education.

The 2/3 day overnight bush camp is a exciting and unique feature of our programs. This will involve tent camping in a beautiful bush environment. One of the key features of the camp is that participants will be responsible for planning, organising and leading almost all of the activities on the camp, with the support of the Program Coordinator. This will also mean ensuring they plan and organised the personal equipment, food and resources and selected group equipment. The Bush Challenge and camp will involve: selecting, setting up and managing the campsite; allocating team roles; setting up tents and sleeping arrangements; planning, organising and leading bush activities and games; planning and undertaking camps tasks and activities; preparing and cooking all meals; relaxation and reflection; and much more. Like everything we do, the camp is tailored to the goals, interests and capabilities of each group. The camp is designed to be a great experience for participants who are experienced in the outdoors or bush environments and also for people who have limited experience or confidence in these environments.
Urban Challenge Days
The Leadership Challenge - Urban Challenge Days is a unique real life learning opportunity for participants to test themselves and each other, their leadership and what they have learned during the first 2/3 days of the program with a real challenge/s and activities out and about in different urban environments in the city/town in which the program is based. The nature of the Challenge Days change with it group, as they plan and set the challenge. Challenge Days in the past have included: community service; physical challenges: navigation challenges; finding and locating landmarks; amazing race style races; creative challenges; team problem solving challenges; orienteering style activities; social challenges and much, much more.
