Wellington Student Leadership Program
Schools and Colleagues,

2025 Program Overview
The Program has been purpose-designed as an extension and enrichment leadership development experience for student representatives from any Primary or Junior school (Year 6 students). The Program has been designed such that it will complement and enrich the student leadership development opportunities and roles students participate in at their school. The aims and approach of this Program is unique and very different to almost all other student leadership programs or conferences currently offered to Primary school students in Victoria. The Program has been purpose-designed as a personalised, sequential, year-long, community-focussed, leadership development program. The Program will use a pedagogy that is personalised, experiential, practical, interactive, inquiry-based, highly relational (using peer-peer learning with students from other schools), student-centred and driven, with a focus on the development of personal and social values and capabilities that are at the heart of leadership.

The aims, approach and structure of the Program will be very similar to the highly successful Program in 2024. The Program will again be coordinated and facilitated by WELS Founder and Lead Educator, Ben Righetti (MBA Grad.Dip.Ed MSoc.Dev. BSc. COR MEd* and VIT Registered Teacher: 320509), in partnership with the Community Partnership Group, which includes local Principals, Chris Malone (Principal – Sale Primary School) and Jie Van Berkel (Head of Junior School – Gippsland Grammar School: St Anne’s Campus).
